  • JCB 3CX manual shuttle lever

I recently purchased an old black cab JCB 3CX.

Most things now work well but one issue is that the manual shuttle lever is very stiff and take a reasonable bit of force to move from forward - neutral - reverse. It is usable but I was thinking is this normal.

I've never driven another so have no point of reference.

    Any tips greatly appreciated.

deffo not normal ..... I can flick mine with a finger ..... it's probably in need of some TLC and a modicum of lube .... in the appropriate places.
Bear in mind that it is just a switch .... on - off - on, activating the solenoids on the shuttle box.
the circuit also has two 'interupter' switches ..... one, a pedal, for yer left foot and a button on the front loader stick knob .... that lil' sod has a habit of sticking in on mine ... occasionally
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!!
