    Well we're getting close to that time of year again... the province here just bought another amphibex floating backhoe to help with breaking up river ice in an effort to prevent ice jams.

      Not likely to one of those on the Great Ouse in Bedford. How stable are they? Not sure if I'd wanna be out on a freezing river

        Well I think they're fairly stable, but climbing around on ice can be pretty scarey it's hard enough to dig a hole here with the ground frozen on triple grouser pads, never mind trying to break ice on a river that drowned more than a few people over time.
