  • What's on your plate??

What kind of whacker plate do you guys use?? I have a JCB one. It's 93kg and 400mm wide. It's the 1540 model. I bought it in 2011 and although I don't use it a lot it's been a good bit of kit!!

Hey Jim, I can't recall all the brands I've used in the past but if your looking for just a smaller one I think you shouldn't have a problem as long as it's a name brand one with a good engine like Honda. I personally pick Honda engines over any other brand as long as they have fuel and motor oil they'll run just fine or so it seems. I guess this is what we usually rent around here a Wacker if it helps.

The reversible ones are really nice and do a good job but you need some decent lifting power to move them around.

And they usually have a small diesel engine like a 'Hatz' that starts with a hand crank but I've seen some that are petrol.
