  • Volvo EC15B XTV - track replacement advice

    Hi,

The tracks on my EC15B XTV are at the end of their life, they are starting to split and one lost a shoe today. I'm looking for advice on the best replacement tracks and confirmation on their size.

Trawling the Internet I think the specs of the tracks for EC15B XTV are

    • width - 290mm
    • pitch - 96mm
    • links - 33

Can anybody confirmation of the above sizes and which are the best replacement tracks and where would I buy them from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Matt.

Looks like I got the width wrong above, it should be

    • width - 230mm

I'm not confident that the pitch and links are correct, any ideas?

All the suppliers you call will know the machine track size and pitch, its worth phoning a few like https://www.southernplantspares.com/, https://www.llrt.co.uk/ and https://astrakgroup.co.uk/ to get a good price. Ive been running EC15's for years and havent really found any ones better than others with the exception of Bridgestone ..... Another good one http://gtweurope.co.uk/

      Keep us posted and welcome

greetings Shed ..... a guy on another forum has this week bought a new set for his 2.5t Neuson from Cautrac ..... who're normally known for how dear they are ... he couldn't better their price

          https://www.cautrac.com/brand/cautrac/

could also give MST a try http://www.msttracks.com/parts?category=115
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!!

Cut 'em into 6" pieces and stick one in the rubbish once a week, wrapped in newspaper

Just for info, the tools I used for this were

                      • 24mm socket to loosen and tighten the track release nut
                      • block of wood to push the idler wheel in
                      • grease gun to re-tension the tracks

A good video of a chap doing a track replacement here -

                          Sounds good!

My next mission is to replace the seals in the dipper arm ram :)
