i'm having more trouble with my jcb 8011.4 mini digger, after finally removing a ram that had a damaged seal, I've noticed some serious pitting to the shaft.
I have 2 questions.
first....what the correct name for the ram highlighted in the above picture
secondly, can I buy a replacement within Europe for a sensible price?

Boom lift or hoist ram ... sure .... you'll be able to replace it, but much cheaper to get it re rodded, and re sealed .. depends on your proximity to a machine shop though

When I snapped mine last May for my 2011 8018 I was about £550 for a new one from JCB! I broke it on the Friday afternoon and picked it up 7am next mornjng overnights from the factory as it was May weekend I figured it was maybe expensive but faster and less down time than trying to get it repaired after the holidays
