      Gotta wonder how long it took to string all the cables just to do that,.. and was it worth it .. yes ofcourse if they were stradleing a ravine and couldnt drive them there

        Hey Ian that's a very common method of logging on the west coast of Canada and the U.S. usually referred to as skyline logging, I wouldn't want to be near that thing when those cables snap, so much tension on those things hanging a D6 from them. I've also seen a number of gravel operations around here where they use those Yarders for dragging dragline buckets to dredge up gravel.

          Hi Bert , Apparently down in Tasmania they use skyline logging . Some very wild country down there . We get the Axemen TV show here .Their gear must be a lot smaller than the one on the video.
