    The early machines just had a rocker pedal for forward reverse, the later ones had a fwd reverse shuttle, and wouldnt start till the centre detent was selected, TBH were shootin' in the dark till the OP comes back ...... OP ....C O M E . . . B A C K !!

      Our 850 has the fwd/rev shuttle switch on the steering column which has to be in the neutral position AND the handbrake has to be not only ON but I have to pull it up and hold it there to get the starter to engage. Probably a micro switch adjustment thingy but too cold to investigate just yet.
